Shadowrocket
Download & Authenticity Check
Shadowrocket is a paid app. It’s a one-time purchase and is available only on the App Store. Verify the storefront and app identity before checking the purchase and device compatibility.
The price shown is a US storefront reference. Other storefronts display local currency; check the App Store listing for current pricing.
01 / STOREFRONT
App Store storefront and Apple ID region
Shadowrocket isn’t available on the mainland China App Store. If you can’t find it, first check the country or region of the Apple ID used for App Store purchases rather than repeatedly changing your search terms. The storefront associated with your account determines which apps are shown, the currency, and payment terms. Your device’s physical location and your storefront region are not the same thing.
The button on this page opens Shadowrocket’s App Store product listing. The storefront path in the link lets you view product information; it does not change your account region or guarantee that your account can make a purchase. If you see a message that the app is unavailable in your region, note the message and check your account. Being able to view the web page does not mean you can complete a transaction.
How to check your account region
- Open Settings on your device and tap your Apple ID account at the top.
- Tap Media & Purchases, then follow the prompts to view your account. Complete authentication if requested.
- Tap Country/Region and check the current setting. This is also where you can access the official region-change options; the exact labels depend on your device.
- Return to the App Store, confirm the account being used for purchases and the displayed currency, then check the Shadowrocket listing and payment details.
Changing your country or region may depend on factors such as account balance, active subscriptions, payment methods, and Family Sharing status. Read the requirements shown on your account and follow the steps that apply to you. This guide explains where to check and what to verify; it cannot guarantee that every account can change regions. Do not enter false account information to bypass a prompt.
The Apple ID signed in to your device may differ from the account used for Media & Purchases. This is especially worth checking after switching devices: use the account associated with the original purchase. Confirming this first can help you avoid mistaking an account mismatch for a missing purchase.
02 / VERIFY BEFORE PURCHASE
Developer, official icon, and app ID
Shadowrocket may also be called “Little Rocket” in Chinese-language descriptions, but nicknames and search result titles do not verify an app’s identity. For an app with the same or a similar name, open the full product listing and check the developer, official icon, and app ID together. Confirm all three before purchasing.
- Developer: Look for Shadow Launch Technology Limited on the product page. Don’t rely on a search result summary or mistake text in the app description for the developer field.
- Official icon: Compare it with the official icon shown on this page: a rocket with a blue-purple outline on a white background. Check the design, background, and outline. A similar image is only a reason to investigate further.
- App ID: Check for
id932747118in the product page URL. The app ID is 932747118. The title in the link can vary; use this number to verify the app.
Search results may include related apps and promoted placements. A high ranking does not confirm an app’s identity. The safest approach is to open the App Store link on this page and review the full product details. If any detail doesn’t match, stop and verify the listing rather than relying on a similar name or screenshot.
Official App Store interface screenshots
These two images are official App Store screenshots showing Home and Add Server. Use them to locate controls after installation; they don’t replace the three-part App Store identity check. The app’s appearance may vary by interface language and layout. Look for the English labels rather than expecting every button to be in exactly the same place.
The fields shown indicate what information the client can accept; they don’t mean a server is included with your purchase. Enter only your own existing subscription or server details. Don’t treat values in tutorial screenshots as usable connection settings. After purchasing the app and preparing your configuration, follow the getting started guide to test the connection step by step.
03 / IPHONE
Get started on iPhone
Open the App Store listing on your iPhone and check compatibility before purchasing or redownloading. Refer to the listing for system requirements. If it says your device isn’t compatible, follow that message rather than assuming support based on the device name. Before purchasing, also check available storage and your account’s payment status to avoid mixing up App Store issues with connection troubleshooting later.
- Verify the Shadowrocket listing and price, then complete the purchase authentication steps in the App Store.
- Wait for the App Store download to finish, then open Shadowrocket. When you first open it, locate Home, Config, and Settings.
- Prepare your own existing subscription or server details. Choose an import method that matches your configuration, or open Add Server and enter the details manually.
- When you first connect, read the system prompt to add a VPN configuration. Make sure it appears after you initiated an action in Shadowrocket, then authorize it as prompted.
Adding a VPN configuration allows the client to manage the relevant network traffic. It is not a second purchase or proof that a server is working. The system may ask for your device passcode or other authentication. If you dismissed the prompt, check the app’s current status before trying to connect again. Don’t repeatedly approve system prompts without understanding their source and purpose.
A connected status on Home doesn’t mean every request will go through a proxy. The Config, Proxy, or Direct option in Global Routing affects how requests are handled: Config uses rules to decide, while Proxy and Direct apply their respective modes. For your first test, check the selected mode, current server, and existing configuration, then use Connectivity Test to review the result.
If the issue occurs before payment, first address the App Store account or device message. If the app opens but the connection fails, check your configuration and network instead. Handle purchasing, installation, authorization, and connection as separate steps to avoid unnecessary troubleshooting. For setup instructions, see the getting started guide. For connection issues, see the troubleshooting guide.
04 / IPAD & COMPATIBILITY
iPad and other Apple devices
Shadowrocket is available for iPhone and iPad. One purchase with the same Apple ID lets you get the app from the App Store on compatible devices of both types; you don’t need a separate purchase to switch from iPhone to iPad. Refer to the App Store listing for iPadOS requirements and purchase compatibility, and check the listing on your iPad before installing.
If the App Store shows a price on your iPad instead of a redownload option, don’t pay right away. Open your App Store account and check whether the purchase account matches the one used on your iPhone, then look under Purchased. Using the same account for other device services doesn’t prove it’s also the same App Store purchase account. Check Media & Purchases and your App Store purchase history.
The larger iPad display may arrange lists and settings differently. Look for labels such as Home, Add Server, Config, and Settings rather than expecting them to match the positions in iPhone screenshots. After importing, check the current server, Global Routing, and connection status. Make sure you imported the intended configuration, not an older entry with the same name.
App purchase eligibility and configuration data are separate. Being able to redownload the app with the same account doesn’t mean subscriptions, server settings, or local rules from another device have automatically appeared. Migrate using your own saved configuration, check its contents, and then connect. Don’t assume migration is complete just because the app is installed.
05 / PURCHASE HISTORY
Restore a purchase after switching devices
Redownloading Shadowrocket after purchasing it is not the same as buying it again. After getting a new iPhone, restoring a device, or deleting the app, use the Apple ID from the original purchase to find the app in your App Store purchase history. You can usually download it again without paying for the same app twice. The key is to confirm which account holds the original purchase, not just remember using the app on a particular device.
- Open the App Store, go to your account, and confirm that you’re signed in with the Apple ID used for the original purchase.
- Go to Purchased and look for Shadowrocket. Depending on your device, the relevant section may appear under apps or purchase history.
- Open the listing, verify the developer and app ID, then tap the redownload button and wait for the download to finish.
- After opening the app, import your own existing subscription or server details, then check Config, Global Routing, and VPN authorization status.
If you can’t find the purchase, first check the account used to buy it, then recall the storefront region at the time of purchase and look for hidden purchases. If you’ve been charged but the account page doesn’t show a clear result, check your purchase history and system messages before trying to buy again. Keeping the transaction record can help identify whether the issue is with the transaction, its display, or redownloading.
Restoring the app does not migrate its configuration
The App Store restores your eligibility to download the app, not all local data. Before switching devices, make sure you can access your existing subscription, server settings, and any rule files you need to keep. Before exporting or transferring a configuration, check for sensitive information such as passwords and subscription URLs. Don’t post the full file in public comments or screenshots.
After importing on a new device, check that subscriptions update, server settings are complete, and rules remain in the expected order. Test the connection before clearing data from your old device. If the original configuration has expired, reinstalling the app won’t extend its validity or restore missing server details.
Check the current App Store listing and Family Sharing settings to see whether Family Sharing applies. Don’t assume every family member can restore a purchase just because one device can use the app. Family Sharing and restoring a purchase with the same Apple ID are separate processes; verify the requirements for each.
For more on accounts and migration, see how to restore a purchase after switching iPhones.
06 / ONE-TIME PURCHASE
Price and one-time purchase
The US storefront reference price for Shadowrocket is $2.99, paid once. Other storefronts display prices in local currency; the amount shown on the App Store purchase confirmation screen is the one that applies. The US dollar price here explains the payment model and shouldn’t be used to estimate the final price in another region. Before paying, review the amount, currency, and purchase terms shown for your account.
A one-time purchase covers the app itself; there’s no monthly charge for the client. To download an app you’ve already purchased, use the Purchased section with the original account. App updates are delivered through the App Store. Use its update controls or your device’s automatic update settings, and check the product page for update details rather than relying on search summaries.
After purchasing, configure the client with your own existing subscription or server details. A failed subscription update, server timeout, or expired setting doesn’t necessarily indicate a purchase problem. Check the App Store transaction status separately from the configuration and connection status, then troubleshoot the relevant issue. Likewise, a failed App Store payment can’t be fixed by changing server settings.
When checking the price, distinguish between two screens: the product page shows app information, while the system purchase confirmation screen shows the transaction details. Confirm a purchase using the account’s purchase history and the system result. Viewing the product page, canceling authentication, or seeing a payment failure does not mean the purchase is complete.
This is the official Shadowrocket guide. It covers App Store verification, purchasing, restoring purchases, and preparing to use the app on your device. For help importing an existing configuration or troubleshooting, see the relevant guides. For payment, region, or purchase history issues, follow the current App Store messages; a connection status in the client does not confirm a successful transaction.
07 / PURCHASE QUESTIONS
Download and purchase FAQs
Why can’t I find Shadowrocket on the App Store?
Shadowrocket isn’t available on the mainland China App Store. Your Apple ID country or region determines which storefront you see. Check your account under Settings → Apple ID → Media & Purchases → Country/Region. Opening the product link on this page does not change your account’s region.
Why can’t I download it after opening the App Store listing?
Check the message shown by the App Store, then review your account region, payment status, device compatibility, available storage, and network connection. Refer to the App Store listing for system requirements. If your purchase status is unclear, don’t submit the payment repeatedly.
Do I have to pay again when I get a new iPhone?
Sign in with the Apple ID used for the original purchase. Find Shadowrocket under App Store → Account → Purchased and download it again; you won’t be charged again for the same app. Restoring the app does not restore its configuration. After installing, import your own existing subscription or server details.
Can I install it on iPad after buying it on iPhone?
Yes. A single purchase with the same Apple ID lets you get the app from the App Store on compatible iPhone and iPad devices. Check the App Store listing for iPadOS requirements and purchase compatibility. Import and verify any existing configuration separately.
Can I install it on Mac, Apple TV, or Apple Vision?
The compatibility section of the same App Store listing includes Mac, Apple TV, and Apple Vision. Check compatibility in the App Store on your target device. Refer to the listing for system requirements and whether the purchase is universal.
How do I follow the English interface after installing?
This official guide keeps interface labels in English. Use Home, Add Server, Config, and Settings to find the corresponding screens. In Global Routing, Config, Proxy, and Direct refer to configuration-based routing, proxy routing, and direct connections. English screenshots help identify controls; interface language alone does not verify an app’s authenticity.
